Important!

Waiver Required: To participate in Kimberly PTA-sponsored programs, events, and activities, all families must submit the California State PTA: Parent's Approval, Student, Family, and Participation Waiver. This form is filled out once for your entire family and covers you for every PTA event during the 2023-2024 school year. This information will be verified at check-in for events. Save time and fill it out online! Without this waiver, you and your student will not be able to participate in running club, garden club, Kampout, Fall Festival, or any PTA-sponsored activity. 

RUSD Board Approved Volunteers: If you are interested in volunteering in your student's classroom or helping out on campus for PTA during the school day, you must be an RUSD board-approved volunteer. Instructions to apply and the required paperwork can be found on the District Volunteer Application site.  New this year, if you plan to chaperone a field trip, you must also provide fingerprint clearance. You may go to the District Office to be fingerprinted.

FAMILY STEAM NIGHT

PTA STEAM Night chair, Nicole Orr, with the help of her team, organized an amazing night for families! Many thanks to our amazing Kimberly PTA families and members of the community for sharing their talents and professions with us. 

YEARBOOK

Please share your STEAM night and Garden Clean-up day photos! All photos in the yearbook come from photos taken by our Kimberly Community! Help us out and submit your photos after each event, activity, or program.  Photos from events in April (assemblies, field trips, STEAM Night, Skate night, etc) will be accepted through April 25.

The deadline to order a yearbook and customize your free 2-page spread is May 4 for your student to receive their yearbook by the school picnic on May 31. See the Yearbook page for more information. Orders can be placed online today through Treering

RUNNING CLUB

Spring session is going strong

The Spring session started on January 23. Students are hitting the track every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:25 a.m. This before-school PTA-run activity is open to all Kimberly Cubs! If your student is interested in joining, please reach out to Maria at nicolaou.maria14@gmail.com. Many thanks to Maria Nicolaou, John Halcon, Samantha Gaulding, and their team of volunteers who help get our students moving before the school day! 

Recap of Past Events

Garden Clean-Up Day - April 20: Our gardens at Kimberly look amazing thanks to Justine Guidry and Kimberly family volunteers! April 20 was the most recent Garden Clean-Up Day. The area flanking the walkway by the TK/Kinder classrooms are free of weeds.  A special clean up effort on April 24 for 4th and 5th graders and volunteers and their younger students laid fabric and mulch. Stop by and see the progress! This effort is led by Justine Guidry, Master Gardener and Kimberly PTA's Garden Club chair. 

Skate Night #2 - April 15: Kimberly families came out in style on April 15 with their flannels, overalls, and some outfits that looked right out of Bayside! Kimberly PTA raised over $1000 at this fun and active fundraiser. Thank you so much. Proceeds will be used to help fund the end-of-year Spring Party and other PTA-sponsored programs. Many thanks to Dawne Simmons and her team of volunteers for making this a fun event for all! 

Redlands Bicycle Classic School Duel - April 13: It was great to see so many students representing Kimberly Elementary in the 2024 Redlands Bicycle Classic School Duel Competition! The race was held on April 13 in downtown Redlands.

Donuts with Dyerly - April 5: Principal Dyerly presented the testing dashboard on Friday, April 5 in the MPR. Starbucks coffee, compliments of Starbucks on Redlands Blvd. and Clark was provided as well as donuts from PTA. Thank you Dawne Simmons for organizing the meetups.

Reading Month - February/March: Reniah Gutierrez, PTA VP and Reading Month Chair, along with Krystal Haskins, Sarah Eppehimer, Janice Endsley, and their team of volunteers put on an amazing Reading Month.  The students participated in lunch-time crafts that complemented the PTA-provided book, Ways to Make Sunshine by Renée Watson. If you attended Family Reading Night, you may have noticed the students' artwork on the book spines that were added to the beautiful backdrop in the MPR. Award-winning author, Michelle Worthington, was invited to speak to students at school assemblies and families at Family Reading Night. Thank you to Mrs. McLeod and Mrs. Paxman who read to students by the pond and PTA and Mr. J's Donuts for providing donut holes. All students were invited to participate in a fun Book Walk where they got to leave with a new or gently used book. Students were treated to a pancake breakfast by RUSD's Medley Station and parents enjoyed coffee and muffins from PTA before the Character Parade. Students dressed as characters from books and put on a parade for everyone to enjoy! Finally, thank you to all the students who read and logged their minutes during the Reading Raiser. The Read-a-Fun raised over $5500 to use for programs and events for all students. Thank you to everyone who supported the Kimberly PTA.

Donuts with Dyerly - February 2: Principal Dyerly presented on the importance of state testing and provided some test-taking tips to share with our students on February 2. Two members won a pack of 4 laser tag games from Lazer Legacy at the meeting. Due to the Read by the Pond event, there will be no Donuts with Dyerly in March. The next meeting will be April 5 in the MPR at 8:00 am. If you have a recommendation for future topics to be covered at the monthly meet-up, please share it with PTA at info@kimberlypta.org or by submitting this form. Thank you to Dawne Simmons, PTA Community Outreach Chair, for organizing the meetings.

Creatif and Septembers Fundraisers - February: The perfect blend of food, friends, and fun! Minh Ta-Dinh, VP of Fundraising, organized a couple of fun outings. Créatif Redlands Art Studio donated 20% of the proceeds from Kimberly families' purchases on Wednesday, February 7. Food sure tastes better when shared with friends and knowing you are supporting a good cause! Kimberly PTA raised $72 from a fundraiser held at Septembers Taproom & Eatery Wednesday - Sunday (2/7-2/11). Proceeds from fundraisers help support the association-approved programs that benefit all students at Kimberly Elementary.

100th Day of School - January 30: Our students are 100 days smarter! The 100th day of school was celebrated on January 30. Students dressed up like they were 100 years old or donned outfits that showed they were 100 days into the 2023-2024 school year.

Math Assembly - January 24: Kimberly teacher, math enthusiast, and PTA member, Heather Turner, along with Carolyn Cullen, PTA assemblies chair and school counselor, organized a math assembly for our students and families. Students participated in math activities throughout the day and families got to participate in the fun during a Family Math Night on January 24. Many thanks for the math fun!

Great Kindness Challenge - January 22: Kimberly students and staff participated in the Great Kindness Challenge January 22 - 26. There were fun spirit days organized by Cub Leadership to complement the Great Kindness Challenge week.

Kiss a Pig Assembly - January 18: On January 18th, Kimberly's amazing Principal Dyerly KISSED A PIG! What a sport! Every student in the school also had the opportunity to pet the friendly pig.  This fun and exciting school assembly was brought to you by our membership team led by Jennifer Jackson and Hien Huynh. Our association reached the highest membership in the Redlands Council of PTAs with 431 members thanks to each one of you!
